The Dublin Story Slam Grand Slam

December 3rd The Abbey Theatre

Congratulations to all of our storytellers who took part at this year's inaugural Dublin Story Grand Slam. Not only did we sell out The Abbey Theatre but everyone who told a story, dug deep into their own personal lives to find something that really mattered to them. The theme of the evening was Lost & Found and included stories about getting lost in life, loosing your identity and loosing a friend. The winning story was from Daisy McCarthy whose passion for creating nearly costs her, her sanity before finding peace in an unlikely source. Daisy had this to say about her experience:

"The opportunity to be able to tell a story -  and for me the particular story I told about my first year back in Ireland -  has been nothing short of medicinal. When I came along in January for the first time, I had never been on stage other than as the chorus in the local panto, but the atmosphere that you and Colm created made me feel that maybe I could try to tell a story -  the rush I felt after that first evening was amazing, but more than that, it gave me a confidence in my own life that has been immeasurable."

Daisy was the recipient of our custom made trophy and get's a VIP pass to the Story Slam for her & 3 friends for the next year. You can watch Daisy's story here.

On January 8th, we're teaming up with First Fortnight for our next Story Slam. The theme is Voices and you can purchase tickets below.
